Voyager's 1 & 2

• Voyager's 1 & 2 are still moving out there after their fly-by past Jupiter and Saturn.

 

• Voyager 1 is about 14.3 billion miles from earth (6th Sept 21) in what's called 'interstellar space'.

• Voyager 2 is about 11.8 billion miles from earth (6th Sept 21) in what's called 'interstellar space'.

• Voyager 1 is travelling at around 38,000 miles per hour (that’s from UK to Australia in 15mins)

• No spacecraft has ever gone farther than these two and crossing into interstellar space in August 2012.

 

• Voyager 1 has a golden record and a message from humanity with greetings in 55 languages with pictures of people and places and music from Beethoven and Chuck Berry.
